Patient Care TechnicianThe Patient Care Technician is responsible for:Under the supervision of a nurse, and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates.Assist the patient with changing/dressingTransports the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair (this is a large part of the job)Identifies abnormal findings that could adversely affect surgical and patient outcomes, including abnormal vital signs, Accucheck results, lab, EKG, and CXR resultsReport all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staffEscorts patients to holding roomsAssists with patient changing, and removal of belongings such as jewelry, dentures, contact lenses, etc.Verifies patient informationOrients patients and families to the environmentObtains vital signsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Provides basic clinical skills required to safely perform routine delegated patient care activities, record and report pertinent clinical data, knowledge and use of specialized patient care equipmentRequired Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificationBLS certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training NetworkWork Experience: One year of clinical experience is required or successful completion of the intern programBenefits:Life and Disability InsuranceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceEmployee tuition reimbursementDependent tuition reimbursementDaycareOn-campus gymSalary Range: Minimum 18.41/hour - Maximum 27.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
