Registered Nurse - Dialysis

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Dialysis Charge Nurse to oversee outpatient dialysis treatments in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will coordinate patient care, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with clinical standards across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the dialysis unit, ensuring quality patient care and safety standards are maintained.
• Supervise and support nursing staff, including training and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate scheduling and coverage for day, evening, and weekend shifts, including occasional holidays.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, equipment maintenance, and safety policies.
• Administer blood and blood products, and perform dialysis procedures, including AV fistula and graft cannulation.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, alarms, and lab results, such as blood glucose and conductivity testing.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY Registered Nurse license with at least 1 year of dialysis experience.
• Demonstrate charge nurse or supervisory experience in outpatient dialysis settings.
• Proficient in chronic outpatient dialysis care, including complex procedures like tunneled catheter management.
• Skilled in managing alarms, equipment troubleshooting, and emergency response procedures.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Ability to float among all dialysis locations and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling.
