JOB SUMMARY The Accounting Operations Leader is a driven, results-oriented professional and a vital part of our Accounting Team. This role is responsible for steering corporate accounting functions, managing the accounting close and consolidation process, and providing strategic advice to business lines and corporate functions on critical accounting issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Operational Activities Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, account balancing, and reconciliations. Analyze transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP standards. Ensure timely completion of the monthly close processes, holding teams accountable for smooth execution. Adhere to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct. Business Line Analysis and Support Conduct monthly variance and net interest margin analyses while partnering with business line leaders to track and report results against forecasts and budgets. Collaborate on special projects and perform various ad hoc analyses as needed. Data Management Manage financial systems, data integrity, and accessibility to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Implement processes to streamline operations and enhance performance. Address and resolve issues that impede a high-performing team environment. Process Efficiency and Strategic Solutions Enhance internal controls and maintain up-to-date documentation of departmental policies and procedures. Lead initiatives for operational effectiveness and process improvements. Develop and implement accounting process modifications using technology tools to improve efficiency and accuracy. Leadership and People Development Build and manage a high-performing accounting team that actively engages and evolves with the business. Foster a culture of accountability and control. Mentor team members to support professional growth and engagement. Focus on developing talent and recruiting effectively to retain employees and meet business needs. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or a related field. Licensed CPA is a plus. A minimum of 7 years in public accounting or corporate accounting within a large organization. Previous experience in banking or financial services, with a strong understanding of relevant accounting principles. Mastery of GAAP standards and current financial reporting practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Process improvement-focused with experience managing multiple projects.
