Position Summary: The Ground Operations Training Instructor is responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating training across all areas of Ground Operations, including ramp, warehouse, weight and balance, dangerous goods, cargo, passenger operations, security, and aircraft turnaround procedures. The position ensures employees and other authorized personnel are trained to perform their duties safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.

The position provides training to a diverse population of employees and external stakeholders and requires the application of broad aviation knowledge, technical expertise, instructional skills, and independent judgment across multiple operational environments.

Major Job Accountabilities:

• Plans, prepares, and delivers Ground Operations training programs across multiple operational disciplines, including ramp, warehouse, weight and balance, dangerous goods, cargo, passenger operations, security, and aircraft turnaround procedures.
• Provides training to a diverse population of employees and external stakeholders, including Loadmasters, Passenger Service Representatives, LCF personnel, Flight Operations personnel, contractors, customers, vendors, handling agents, and other authorized representatives.
• Delivers training in classroom, computer-based, virtual, and on-the-job environments at domestic and international locations, as operational requirements dictate.
• Ensures training objectives are aligned with operational performance, safety, customer service, security, and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Conducts on-the-job training, competency checks, practical evaluations, and other assessments to ensure personnel demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for their assigned responsibilities.
• Monitors and evaluates trainee performance across classroom, virtual, computer-based, and practical training environments.
• Identifies training deficiencies and develops or recommends appropriate corrective, supplemental, or refresher training to address identified gaps.

• Provides Ground Operations training and instruction to flight deck crewmembers, flight attendants, dispatchers, and other Flight Operations personnel on applicable company procedures, including weight and balance, dangerous goods, security, and other Ground Operations requirements.
• Performs aircraft weight and balance functions in accordance with applicable procedures and requirements.

• Develops, reviews, updates, and maintains training materials, courseware, presentations, job aids, assessments, and other instructional resources to reflect operational, regulatory, and procedural changes.
• Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of computer-based training (CBT) and other technology-enabled learning programs.
• Ensures training content and delivery remain consistent with applicable company policies, regulatory requirements, security standards, and operational procedures.

• Proactively identifies training-related issues and initiates appropriate actions to resolve or mitigate them.
• Interacts with customers, vendors, handling agents, and other stakeholders to communicate training requirements, procedures, expectations, and appropriate escalation processes.
• Collaborates with Ground Operations leadership, Flight Operations, Safety, Security, and other departments to identify training requirements and support operational objectives.

• Maintains accurate and timely training records and documentation for employees, customers, contractors, vendors, handling agents, and other applicable personnel in accordance with company, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Supports the Manager of Training with training administration, program coordination, reporting, scheduling, and other departmental activities as required.
• Supports audits, inspections, and other compliance activities related to training and operational qualifications, as required.

Special Projects

• Participates in the development and implementation of new or revised operational procedures, training programs, and initiatives for Ground Operations.
• Performs other training-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation, education, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education and/or aviation experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant airline or aviation experience, with broad operational knowledge and experience in Ground Operations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, facilitate, and evaluate technical training programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applicable aviation regulations, operational procedures, safety requirements, and security standards.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory information effectively to audiences with varying levels of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize competing responsibilities.
• Ability to work flexible schedules based on operational and training requirements, including domestic and international travel and training assignments.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications and the ability to effectively deliver training through computer-based, virtual, and other technology-enabled learning environments.

Required Aviation Experience:

Candidates should possess relevant experience in at least three of the following areas:

• Loadmaster and/or Passenger Service certification with relevant operational experience.
• Dangerous Goods certification with relevant operational experience.
• Experience developing, delivering, facilitating, and/or evaluating aviation training programs.
• Experience in airline or aviation Ground Operations, including ramp, cargo, warehouse, passenger service, aircraft turnaround, weight and balance, or related functions.
• Experience delivering training through computer-based, virtual, or other technology-enabled learning environments.
• Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting computer-based training (CBT) programs or other instructional technology.

Competitive compensation will be offered based on a variety of factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal equity and other factors. In addition, a range of benefits to include medical, dental and vision insurance, employee assistance program, as well as generous paid time off, and 401K contributions are offered as a part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range

$62,500—$73,500 USD
