At Soar Therapy & Integrative Wellness, we are looking for Virginia Residents in Counseling who want to become thoughtful, confident, highly skilled therapists. You'll receive consistent supervision, clinical training, opportunities to develop specialty skills, and the structure and support needed to grow your caseload and your clinical confidence. We are an outpatient mental health and wellness practice serving adolescents ages 13+ and adults throughout Northern Virginia. Our approach combines evidence-based psychotherapy with culturally responsive, whole-person care that considers relationships, life experiences, attachment, and the nervous system. What You'll DoAs a Resident in Counseling at Soar, you will: Provide individual psychotherapy to adolescents (13+) and adults. Conduct clinical intakes, assess client needs, and develop individualized treatment plans. Use evidence-based and integrative interventions based on each client's presenting needs and treatment goals. Monitor client progress and make clinically appropriate decisions regarding treatment frequency and level of care. Incorporate supervision and feedback into your clinical work and professional development. Maintain professional and timely communication with clients, supervisors, and our administrative team. Follow practice standards related to documentation, scheduling, cancellations, continuity of care, and client transitions. Have opportunities to participate in groups, workshops, community outreach, and program development. The Clinician We're Looking For You may be a strong fit if you are reflective, relational, clinically curious, and committed to becoming an excellent therapist. We're especially interested in clinicians who: Enjoy working with adolescents and adults. Have experience or strong interest in trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, and relationship concerns. Have training or experience in CBT or DBT. Are interested in ACT, mindfulness, somatic approaches, or EMDR, as well as evidence-based and integrative modalities. Are curious about the relationship between trauma, attachment, and the nervous system. Value thoughtful treatment planning and high-quality clinical documentation. Welcome direct, supportive feedback and use supervision to strengthen clinical judgment. Are dependable, organized, responsive, and follow through on commitments. Enjoy structure and accountability while still having room to develop your own clinical identity. • Qualifications Want to contribute to a team rather than simply work alongside one. Master's degree in Counseling or a related field that meets Virginia residency requirements. Current Virginia Resident in Counseling status or eligibility to begin residency in Virginia. Experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents and/or adults. Working knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation. Experience or training in CBT and DBT preferred. Trauma-informed clinical experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Full-Time Schedule Commitment to ethical and culturally responsive clinical practice. Hybrid schedule with 3 in-office days per week Available from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM on in-person days Afternoon/evening availability required • Part-Time Schedule Target of 26 completed client sessions per week Hybrid schedule with 2 in-office days per week Availability within one of these scheduling blocks: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM 2:30 PM–7:30 PM Opportunity to grow your caseload or transition to full-time as practice needs and mutual interest align Clinical Support & Professional Development We invest in developing our clinicians. Approved administrative time: $25/hour , including supervision, required meetings, training, and approved administrative responsibilities. Complete progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and other required clinical documentation accurately and within established timelines. Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs, diagnosis, medical necessity, and treatment goals. Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and establish appropriate recommendations for treatment and frequency of care. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches and service frequency as clinically appropriate. Assess and respond appropriately to clinical risk, safety concerns, and mental health emergencies, seeking consultation when needed. Participate actively in weekly individual supervision, peer consultation, clinical training, and required team meetings. Apply supervision, feedback, and training to strengthen clinical skills and professional development. Maintain timely and professional communication with clients, supervisors, and the administrative team. Follow practice policies related to scheduling, cancellations, documentation, continuity of care, and client transitions. Contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and accountable team culture. Participate in opportunities such as groups, workshops, community outreach, or program development based on interest and practice needs. Qualifications: What You Bring • Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related counseling field. • Active Virginia Resident in Counseling status or eligibility to begin residency in Virginia. • A strong foundation in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based practice. • Ability to build authentic, professional therapeutic relationships with adolescents and adults. • Openness to supervision, with the ability to receive feedback, reflect on your work, and apply it. • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to recognize when consultation or additional support is needed. • Clear, timely, and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and leadership. • Consistent attention to documentation, scheduling, and other responsibilities that support continuity of care. • Reliability and follow-through: you do what you say you will do and communicate proactively when something changes. • Ability to manage your responsibilities independently while remaining connected to and engaged with the team. • Curiosity and a genuine commitment to developing your clinical skills throughout residency. • Experience working with adolescents (13+) and adults is preferred. Compensation: $40 - $45 hourly flat rate
