Join our dynamic team as a Local CDL Class A Driver specializing in waste hauling and landfill disposal. Duties

• Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks such as front loader, rear loader, and roll-off trucks, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws.
• Load and unload waste materials using mechanical equipment like front-end loaders or roll-off containers, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials when applicable.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures during route driving to maintain a safe environment for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
• Manage waste collection routes efficiently, including municipal waste management tasks, ensuring timely pickups and disposal at landfills or transfer stations.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding service schedules and address any concerns promptly to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate logs of loads, route activities, vehicle maintenance, and incident reports in compliance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license with air brake endorsement required; experience operating heavy-duty commercial trucks such as garbage trucks, front loaders, rear loaders, and roll-off trucks is essential.
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on solid waste management or municipal waste collection preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, hazardous materials regulations (if applicable), and safety protocol adherence is critical for success in this role.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks related to load & unload activities safely.
• Outdoor work experience demonstrating resilience in various weather conditions is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members alike.

Pay rate: $28 an hour.

Schedule: Monday - Friday. 5:30 am to 2 pm or later.
