About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Optometry MD in North Carolina!

We are seeking an Optometrist for a 120-day assignment in North Carolina, starting Sep 10, 2026. This Physician will work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, focusing on conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular diseases, prescribing eyeglasses, and advising on follow-up care, including prescribing antibiotics. The role involves visiting assisted living homes and nursing facilities with provided travel-friendly equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct eye exams
• Diagnose and treat ocular disease
• Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses
• Advise patients, families, and facilities on follow-up care
• Prescribe antibiotics
• Visit assisted living homes and nursing facilities
• Utilize provided company laptop and travel-friendly equipment

Additional Information

• Board Certified in Optometry
• Cases include ocular disease, ocular degeneration, cataracts, and vision checks
• The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
