Home Respiratory Therapist

Essential duties and responsibilities include overseeing the clinical, technical, and administrative functions related to the PAP Therapy program. This involves the installation and delivery of respiratory therapist equipment, providing necessary supplies and products to patients in their homes, and conducting ongoing assessments of patients and equipment. The role also includes contacting patients to schedule equipment setups, explaining the clinical benefits of PAP therapy, and addressing the dangers of sleep apnea. Additionally, the therapist must maintain records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, and other necessary documentation. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required, along with adherence to cost-containment policies and procedures. The therapist works with office staff to ensure accurate billing and documentation of services, and collaborates with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote home respiratory therapist services. Proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment is ensured prior to installation, and the therapist must be available for patient contact and response to patient needs. The therapist also works with team members to ensure tasks are completed. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
