Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include filing blocks and slides, delivery of assets throughout the department, managing electronic requests for additional material, preparing/staging blocks for microtomy, supporting/operating digital scanning/instruments, tracking assets in pathology tracking system, demonstrating interpersonal skills required to successfully perform as a team member in a constantly changing environment, maintaining confidentiality regarding all phases of laboratory work and findings, and complying with all the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals.

Required Qualifications

This position requires frequent standing/walking/sitting for long periods of time.

Modes of Work

Work Schedule

This full time, 40 hour position is on the night shift, 10pm-6:30am.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
