Registered Nurse-Critical Care

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications English language proficiency as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f). Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by an accrediting agency such as ACEN or CCNE. Or completion of a master’s level bridge program with equivalent bachelor’s level coursework, with possibility of temporary appointment upon state license. Or foreign nursing graduates with current, full, active and unrestricted registration and validated degree equivalency. Graduate nurse technician (GNT) exception for candidates lacking licensure; temporary 120‑day appointment with up to two–year extension. Grade determination based on scope‑education and dimension criteria provided in the online assessment. Collaborate on development, implementation, and revision of policies, procedures and guidelines. Provide constructive feedback and support to peers to improve quality care. Foster a safe and supportive environment for professional development. Evaluate outcomes of evidence‑based decisions and practice changes at program or service level. Perform additional duties as assigned. Must be onsite in the clinical area; telework not approved.
