Job Summary:
The Charleston, South Carolina location is seeking a qualified Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technician to perform specialized obstetric and fetal diagnostic ultrasound examinations. The sonographer will prepare images and reports in accordance with established protocols to facilitate accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week, with no floating or call and no weekends or holidays.

• Required Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ROMS) or registered within one year of hire; Certified in American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OB/GYN; Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card; Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS) in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN); Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification (must be obtained within six months if not already held).
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program certified by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiology Technology (JRCERT) or equivalent, or an Allied Health Education program for Medical Sonography certified by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in collaboration with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).
  • Experience: Two years' experience in pelvic and endovaginal ultrasound, first trimester nuchal translucency, second trimester fetal anatomy scans, biophysical profile, umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery (MCA) dopplers, 3D and 4D imaging, assisting with amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, umbilical blood transfusions, and nonstress testing; at least one-year experience in high-risk OB/GYN diagnostic ultrasound; 1-year experience in fetal echocardiography strongly preferred.

• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in fetal echocardiography.

  The candidate will perform specialized obstetric and fetal diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including fetal monitoring and assisting with invasive procedures. They will educate and communicate effectively with patients and families, maintain practice standards as outlined by professional societies, demonstrate proficiency with radiology and hospital computer systems, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
