JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Product Designer II to create exceptional user experiences across FOX News Media's digital products, including FOX News, FOX Business and OutKick. You'll design intuitive, engaging experiences across multiple product teams, contributing strong UI/UX craft to initiatives ranging from content discovery and audience engagement to emerging AI-powered experiences.

In this role, you'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and fellow designers to solve user problems, translate requirements into thoughtful designs, and deliver high-quality web and mobile experiences. You'll have opportunities to grow your product thinking while contributing across the full design process-from discovery and ideation through implementation.

You'll iterate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where priorities evolve quickly, experimentation is encouraged, and AI-powered tools help accelerate design and prototyping.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Design

• Design user experiences across web and mobile products, contributing from concept through implementation.
• Support translation of user needs, product requirements, and business goals into intuitive, user-centered experiences.
• Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that clearly communicate design intent.
• Apply user-centered design principles while balancing usability, technical feasibility, and business objectives.

Design Execution & Craft

• Produce polished, visually engaging designs that align with FOX News Media's brand and accessibility standards.
• Apply strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, hierarchy, layout, color, and interaction design.
• Contribute to design systems and reusable components to promote consistency across products.
• Support collaboration with Engineering throughout implementation to ensure design quality and accuracy.

AI-Driven Design & Prototyping

• Develop and apply fluency in AI tools (Figma AI, Claude Design, or similar) to accelerate ideation, visual exploration, and concepting.
• Build functional prototypes that help communicate concepts and validate user experiences.
• Apply general-purpose AI assistants (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar) for research synthesis, UX copy, and design brief development.
• Stay current on emerging AI-powered design tools and seek opportunities to incorporate them into day-to-day workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Support collaboration and strong working relationships with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and fellow designers throughout the product development process.
• Contribute across multiple product initiatives while adapting to evolving priorities.
• Present design work, explain design decisions, and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and teammates.
• Participate in design critiques and contribute to a collaborative design culture.

User-Centered Design

• Incorporate user research, usability testing, analytics, and feedback into design decisions.
• Advocate for users while balancing business goals and technical constraints.
• Continuously iterate on designs based on insights, testing, and product feedback.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Required

• Typically, 2+ years of experience designing digital products for web and mobile platforms.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong UX, interaction, and visual design skills across consumer-facing digital products.
• Experience designing responsive web and native mobile experiences.
• Proficiency with Figma and modern product design workflows.
• Experience using AI-powered design and coding tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to support design exploration and prototyping.
• Ability to create interactive prototypes that effectively communicate user experiences.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility best practices, and design systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain design decisions to cross-functional partners.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in an iterative environment.
• Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

• Experience designing consumer-facing products in digital media, publishing, streaming, or content-rich platforms.
• Familiarity with design systems and component-based design.
• Experience conducting or supporting user research and usability testing.
• Exposure to AI-powered product experiences or emerging technologies.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies and implementation considerations.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $92,000.00-124,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
