Location: Hopewell, VA Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend On-Call: None
Unit Overview
Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Beds: 11
Staffing: 3–5 RNs per shift
Patient Ratio: 2:1 (may surge to 1:3)
EMR: Meditech
Monitoring: GE Bedside Monitoring
Job Responsibilities
Provide care to critically ill, high-acuity ICU patients
Manage ventilated patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes, and escalate appropriately
Assist with bedside procedures including:
Intubation & bronchoscopy
SLED
TEE and cardioversions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Floating
PCU
Telemetry
ER (holding patients only; no ER patient assignments)
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience
Strong critical-thinking and assessment skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Team-oriented, adaptable, and positive attitude
Required Certifications
BLS
ACLS
