Validate incoming datasets for accuracy and completeness for the purpose of preventing defective data from entering systems of record (e.g., student information systems, ERP/HRIS). Manage data mapping specifications for the purpose of supporting consistent integration definitions and stakeholder alignment. Transform operational data into reporting-ready structures for the purpose of meeting platform constraints and enabling reliable outputs. Develop and support batch ETL/ELT processes and workflows for the purpose of ensuring secure, timely data movement. Enable secure third-party integrations for the purpose of maintaining operational continuity and compliance. Create SQL queries and validation routines for the purpose of simplifying data consumption and ensuring integrity. Produce operational reports and data outputs for the purpose of supporting stakeholder needs and daily operations. Monitor pipeline execution and operational controls for the purpose of detecting issues early and restoring service continuity. Facilitate regulatory and state reporting for the purpose of assisting the District in meeting compliance and funding requirements. Other Functions: Support ad-hoc data and reporting requests (e.g., extracts, validations, investigations, and prototypes) for the purpose of providing technical coverage and operational capacity. Participate in cross-training and backup-readiness activities (e.g., maintaining runbooks, performing walkthroughs, and providing peer reviews) for the purpose of reducing single points of failure and improving operational continuity. Maintain source code, scripts, reports, and development artifacts within the team repository (e.g., version control, release notes, and documentation) for the purpose of supporting collaboration, traceability, and organized technical operations. Participate in training, technical workshops, and vendor sessions (e.g., conferences, webinars, and professional development) for the purpose of maintaining currency with evolving regulations, reporting requirements, and District technologies. Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and basic statistical calculations; read technical information; compose routine technical and procedural documents; and analyze situations to identify issues, compare data, and draw conclusions using established criteria. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: The role requires knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data validation, and file formats such as CSV and flat files. It necessitates understanding data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and operational reporting. Candidates must be familiar with secure data handling practices, FERPA compliance, and technical documentation standards. Additionally, the role requires troubleshooting data issues and an understanding of K-12 education data structures, including SIS/ERP systems and state reporting requirements. SKILLS are required to perform multiple moderately complex technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Candidates must demonstrate skill in managing ETL/ELT workflows, validating and formatting complex data files, and performing data reconciliation across systems. Utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is moderate opportunity to impact the organization's services through the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of assigned data processes and reporting outputs. Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Experience Job related experience is required in SQL query development, relational database systems, reporting, data validation, data integration support, secure file exchange, or production data environments. Experience with SIS, ERP/HRIS, assessment, rostering, provisioning, public-sector, or K-12 education data systems is preferred. Familiarity with Missouri education reporting cycles, including MOSIS/DESE, is preferred. Education Bachelor's degree in a job-related area with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related technical field. Equivalency Additional qualifying experience, technical training, certification, or education may be substituted for required experience or education.
