Information Technology Specialist

The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for maintaining and developing in-house applications, managing the phone system, supporting the company network, and addressing the day-to-day technology needs of employees. Due to the hands-on nature of technical support and system administration, the role requires most work hours to be performed on-site, with some remote flexibility as needed. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and develop enterprise applications written in ASP.net, SQL, and Ruby on Rails. Maintain servers hosting the company’s IP phone system, accounting, manufacturing, and file servers. Support end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive and service-oriented manner. Set up, manage, and maintain IT-related equipment. Monitor backup jobs and ensure a high level of completion success rate. Maintain regular and predictable attendance; report to work on time. Provide excellent customer service and reflect our company’s core values at all times. Manage time and projects effectively. Help put processes in place to maintain a stable network environment. Train staff with IT-related equipment. Maintain and grow the technology infrastructure of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned. Complies with QSI policies and procedures. Education and/or Experience Information Technology and code development experience Requires strong math aptitude Any combination of job-related experience and/or training, which would produce the required knowledge, skills and abilities Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Requires knowledge and experience of full Rails web stack, both legacy and current. Organized, thorough, and has great attention to detail Demonstrates working knowledge of hardware and networking fundamentals Able to install, configure, troubleshoot and support both Windows and Linux clients and servers.
