BLET Police Officer Cadet

Overview We are looking for motivated, community‑minded individuals to join the North Carolina State Capitol Police as a Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Cadet. The program provides full tuition, required equipment, and professional guidance, and serves as a strong foundation for a long‑term policing career. Duties After Certification Patrol and secure state government buildings and grounds. Respond to calls for service and emergencies. Enforce traffic and pedestrian safety rules. Engage with the community and perform public‑service duties. Support state officials, employees, and visitors. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 20 years old. Valid North Carolina driver’s license in effect by the start of the BLET class. Must pass a criminal background investigation, drug screening test, and psychological evaluation. Must complete the NC Probationary Law Enforcement Certification, including BLET, within one year of employment. No felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors.
