Step into a rewarding opportunity as a full-time contract educator focusing on middle school science in an onsite role starting August 24, 2026, and lasting through June 10, 2027. In this position, you’ll engage with general education students and collaborate closely with special education professionals who are dedicated to meeting the needs of any SPED learners. With a 35-hour workweek from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in a dynamic urban academic environment near West Chester, PA.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required (to qualify for an emergency teaching permit, if necessary)
- Current, active teaching certification or licensure appropriate for general education middle school science
- Completion of all Pennsylvania state clearances before start date
- Demonstrated mastery in science content, instructional techniques, and use of curriculum resources
- Proven track record of effective classroom and behavioral management, particularly in urban settings
- Prior school experience is a must
- Reliable transportation to and from the onsite location
Responsibilities and Core Duties:
- Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with state and district standards
- Utilize formative assessment to drive instruction and adapt strategies to meet student needs
- Collaborate with a team of educators, including SPED staff, to foster inclusive education
- Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment to support strong learning outcomes
