Respiratory Therapist II Wkd Non-NICU (Nights)

Position Weekend Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift 7pm-7am) Location Wellstar Paulding Hospital, Hiram, GA Work Shift Night (United States of America) Benefits Sign-On Bonus and Relocation assistance offered for qualified, experienced Respiratory Therapists. Responsibilities Medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on the evaluate‑and‑treat process. Deliver patient care in complex, multiple‑problem patient situations, primarily in critical care areas with protocol ventilator management and significant independent decision‑making. Coordinate patient, family/support system education and staff development. Provide patient care with an understanding of population‑specific needs, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs. Educate and mentor new employees, students, and peers. Perform patient assessment and documentation for therapy. Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan patient care. Verify orders and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen, and medical gas therapy. Manage ventilator settings, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, airway management (intubation, extubation, trach tube change and care). Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Assist in invasive and non‑invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. Promote a current and accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging system. Promote patient safety, medication safety, and other quality improvement initiatives. Review revised and new DPPs. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with at least 20 quarter hours of science. Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 0–2 years clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care. Registered Respiratory Therapist license. Respiratory Care Professional certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills including familiarity with databases. Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills.
