The eligible shifts are Monday to Thursday, 3PM to 11PM or 11PM to 7AM, and all shifts Friday through Sunday. You must work at least one shift during the pay period. Not a full-time position and does not have benefits. Excellent retirement package and deferred compensation plan. The FDVA Nursing State Veterans' Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program. From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years. Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant's lender. Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a valid licensure as a Practical Nurse in the state of Florida.
• Must possess a valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR).
• Must be able and willing to work on a schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• One (1) year experience providing practical nursing services in a long-term health care environment (nursing home; skilled nursing; or assisted living facility).
• Experience passing medications in a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience in the use of Electronic Medical Records.
• Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent is responsible for providing quality care to veteran residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Perform assigned duties to include but not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's status and supervising CNA and other supportive care giver.
