Director, Engineering - Project Control

Merck seeks a Director of Project Control to lead cost and schedule management for large strategic engineering programs. The role involves establishing project control procedures, delivering monthly reports, managing multidisciplinary teams, and driving continuous improvement across the Global Estimating Solutions organization.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement project control procedures and execution plans across assigned portfolio
• Deliver monthly project cost reports including budgeting, forecasting, earned-value analysis, and risk management
• Monitor leading indicators and provide early warning of schedule or cost issues to project teams
• Manage project controls staffing and ensure compliance with GES procedures and reporting requirements
• Support implementation of change management, risk management, and Target Value Delivery processes

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant discipline
• 15+ years of project control or delivery experience in pharmaceutical industry
• Capital project/program management experience from FEL through start-up and licensure
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with change management capability
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar financial management software
• Proficiency in scheduling and risk analysis tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Ability to travel across the Americas up to 25% of the time

Compensation: $173,200-$272,600 base
