Special Education Teacher in Denmark, SC

This full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is based in Denmark, South Carolina, with a contract position available for the 2026-2027 school year. The roles support students in a variety of educational settings within Barnwell County, located about 45 minutes east of Aiken and Augusta. There are three openings for licensed Special Education teachers eager to make a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.


Openings include:

• Self-contained classroom teacher for primary grades 2-6 at a primary school
• Resource teacher at an elementary school
• Resource teacher serving middle and high school students at a combined middle/high school setting

Candidates with experience in special education classrooms, including self-contained and resource models, will find these roles fulfilling and impactful. The positions offer the chance to work closely with students requiring specialized instruction and support, collaborate with dedicated staff, and contribute to inclusive educational environments.


Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience with self-contained and resource room instruction preferred
• Strong classroom management and individualized education program (IEP) implementation skills
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage families
• Open to out-of-state candidates willing to relocate or commute
