Position Summary: Ensures all food preparation and storage areas are cleaned and maintained in a safe and sanitary manner

Job Title: Steward

Department: Food & Beverage

Reports To: Stewarding Supervisor

FSLA Designation: Non-exempt

License Type: Non-gaming

Target Pay: Start - $24.39 One Year - $27.10

Essential Job Functions:

• Sets up the dishwashing area with racks, chemicals, supplies and carts
• Scrapes food from dirty dishes
• Places tableware in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine
• Washes pots, pans, and other cooking utensils and equipment
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen or beverage areas as needed
• Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers
• Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
• Maintains the can wash area on loading dock in sanitary and neat condition
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
• Organizes china, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment and utensils and supplies
• Follows sanitation and safety guidelines
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months or more related experience or training preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing

Working Conditions:

• Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; stand and walk
• Must occasionally lift and lift up to 25 pounds
• Frequently required to stoop, crouch or kneel
• Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor
• Exposure to high noise level
