This role ensures the smooth execution of simulation-based learning by managing high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, audiovisual systems, and related technologies. The Specialist collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to deliver safe, realistic, and high-quality simulation experiences.## **Job Description:****Job Duties**Simulation Operations & Technical Support* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment including manikins, task trainers, and virtual platforms.* Set up, reset, and maintain simulation environments to reflect clinical scenarios, including props, moulage, and medical supplies.* Provide technical support before, during, and after simulation sessions.* Record, edit, and manage audiovisual content using platforms such as SimCapture, B-Line, and other AV systems.Equipment Maintenance & Inventory Management* Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on simulation equipment; coordinate external servicing when needed.* Monitor inventory of consumables and equipment; reorder supplies as necessary.Collaboration & Training* Collaborate with faculty and staff to design, test, and implement technical components of simulation scenarios.* Train faculty, staff, and students on the use of simulation equipment and audiovisual systems.Program Development & Quality Improvement* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for simulation operations.* Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices in simulation education.* Participate in team meetings, professional development, and special projects aligned with the Simulation Program’s mission.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Furthermore, job duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.**Working Environment*** This position requires full-time, in-person work on campus.* This position requires occasional evening or weekend hours to support academic schedules.* Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.**Required Qualifications****Work Experience:*** Four (4) years of experience with audiovisual systems and computer networking. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.* One (1) year of experience with healthcare simulation equipment. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.**Preferred Qualifications****Education:** Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or technical discipline.**Work Experience:*** One (1) year of experience in healthcare simulation operations, nursing education, or clinical healthcare settings.* One (1) year of experience with simulation platforms and tools such as Laerdal, SimCapture, VR/AR technologies, or learning management systems.* One (1) year of experience in setting up clinical environments and applying moulage techniques.* One (1) year of experience supporting technical systems used in simulation-based education.**Skills*** Communication Skills* Problem-Solving Skills* Multi-Tasking Skills**Required Documents*** Resume/CV* Cover Letter**Comprehensive Benefits Package:**Coverage begins on day one for health, dental, and vision insurance and includes health expense accounts with generous employer contributions if the employee participates in a qualifying health plan. Paid time off, including vacation and sick, begins accruing upon hire, plus ten paid holidays. One paid discretionary day is available after six months of employment, and paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, military service, and parental leave is available after 12 months of employment. A retirement program with a generous employer contribution and additional voluntary retirement programs (457 or 403b) are available. **Employee Type:**Regular## **Time Type:**Part time## **Rate Type:**Hourly**Compensation Statement:**The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.## **Pay Range:**$24.71 - $35.82**Minimum**$24.71**Midpoint**$30.29**Maximum**$35.82
