Go-Kart Mechanic IL

Position Summary Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is seeking a Go‑Kart Mechanic to anticipate guest needs and provide a fun, safe racing experience. The role requires assisting guests, maintaining karts and tracks, and ensuring all safety guidelines are followed. Key Responsibilities Welcome visitors with a friendly and positive greeting. Project racing requirements and safety guidelines to guests. Provide safe racing experiences for all guests. Perform kart repairs and regular performance maintenance checks. Maintain proper kart appearance and functionality. Handle emergency situations as directed. Conscientiously maintain, repair, and clean karts and tracks. Store tools properly in locked cabinets. Process guest races in the point‑of‑sale and timing systems. Observe, instruct, and monitor guests for safety and guideline adherence. Assist with guest recovery and notify manager to ensure positive experiences. Maintain knowledge of Andretti brand, products, policies, and procedures. Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and co‑workers. Be aware of and follow facility emergency procedures. Perform opening, running, and closing department duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of prior guest service experience, preferably in hospitality, restaurant, or entertainment settings. Excellent verbal communication skills and friendly demeanor. Ability to work a varied schedule including days, nights, holidays, and weekends. Comfortable in loud, fast‑paced environments. Proficiency with point‑of‑sale systems and electronic equipment. Preferred: previous experience in family entertainment centers. Physical Requirements Walk or stand for extended periods. Lift up to 30 lbs. (some positions up to 50 lbs.). Perform organization, bending, reaching, turning, lifting, climbing, and occasional stocking. Operate manual equipment with dexterity. Work in environments with bright or flashing lights and loud sounds. Benefits Salary range: $18–$24 per hour. 401(k) retirement program with company match.
