Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Join Jackson Therapy Partners as a traveling Physical Therapist where you’ll help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. Minimum Requirements Bachelor‘s, Master‘s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA. Active State Physical Therapist license required prior to the start of the assignment. Virginia license required for work in VA; candidates currently licensed in other states must obtain Virginia licensure upon submittal. BLS/CPR certification from AHA or ARC required and must be current. Experience in outpatient physical therapy required. Experience with coverage of inpatient med/surg units and same-day surgery (total knees) preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload averaging 7–8 patients per day. Willingness to provide occasional on-call coverage; current on-call rotation approximately every fourth weekend for inpatient coverage. Orientation availability: can start any week per facility orientation calendar. Preferred: Advanced certifications such as OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, or Women’s Health. Assignment Details Facility type: Outpatient clinic with possible coverage responsibilities for small med/surg unit and same-day surgery. Shift days: Monday through Friday. Shift type: Day shift. Shift hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Patient volume: Typically 7–8 patients per day. On-call requirement: Approximately every 4th weekend for inpatient on-call hours. Floating: Candidate may be asked to cover other units within the facility as needed. Assignment duration: 13-week travel assignment. The city sits along the Blackwater River and is within a 30–45 minute drive of the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge and Lake Drummond, providing opportunities for kayaking and birding. Franklin is a 45–60 minute drive to the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, including Norfolk and Virginia Beach, offering museums, regional transit connections, and waterfront activities. Local features include historic downtown districts, the Franklin-Southampton County Museum, and community events that support a quiet, suburban lifestyle with easy access to coastal and urban amenities. Commuting within the region is typically under an hour to nearby employers and recreation sites, making this location suitable for clinicians seeking a slower pace with weekend access to beaches and state parks.
