About the Position

Job Title: Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: State License required Certifications: BLS, ARDMS, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Must-Have: OB and Arterial Extremity doppler experience required Description: 50-mile radius rule applies. General certification requirements include BLS and state license. OB and arterial extremity doppler experience is required. Candidates must have ARDMS and/or RVT certification. The department has three ultrasound rooms. No floating or covering of other areas is required. Common imaging studies performed include general ultrasound, OB, small parts, and vascular ultrasound (upper and lower venous and arterial). Candidates must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. First-time travelers are accepted. The average number of scans performed per day is 35. The EMR system used is Community Works, and the PACS system is Intellirad/Intelliconnect. Department-specific equipment includes Siemens S2000. The imaging director and manager are available M-F during daylight hours. Radiologists are in-house 24/7 until 5 PM and are on call thereafter. Responding to calls regarding starting IVs is required. Staff works on a rotating shift schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on with shifts beginning at 6 AM, 7 AM, and occasionally 11 AM. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, and there may be holiday rotation. No call or standby requirement is included. Scrubs may be worn in any clean and professional color. Department-specific orientation consists of five shifts with a preceptor. Client may cancel two shifts per 13-week assignment and one shift for assignments less than 13 weeks.
