Our programs are grounded in a person-centered philosophy, meeting each individual where they are and supporting them toward greater independence at every stage of life. The Role Vista is seeking a Café Instructor to prepare and serve meals while facilitating activities and socialization for large groups of Vista members. This role focuses on creating a welcoming, structured environment that promotes culinary skill development, social engagement, and individualized support. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a clean, organized, and supportive café environment. What You'll Do Plan, shop for, and prepare meals and activities for members in the café program. Work within a budget to plan and prepare nutritious meals for members. Lead activities that encourage socialization and camaraderie among members. Prepare menus and complete grocery shopping on a weekly basis. Develop and facilitate creative group, social, and recreational activities for café participants. What We're Looking For High School diploma plus 1 year of related experience. Valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record as defined by Vista. CPR, First Aid, and PMT certification or the ability to obtain certifications within 90 days of hire. Utilize technology, including computers for instruction, communication, and administrative purposes. Additional Information Hourly Rate: $22.40, plus eligible mileage reimbursement Location: Westbrook, CT | Status: Part‑time, Non‑Exempt, Monday‑Friday 4pm‑7pm, with additional hours for shopping.
