Surgery - Vascular Nurse Practitioner

Position : Nurse Practitioner- Cardiothoracic Surgery Start: ASAP Setting : OR only (1st assist) - Call for OR only no office with OR, call back if needed Schedule : Monday-Friday = 7a-4p + Night Call 4p-7a. Saturday & Sunday = 24 Hours On Call (7a-7a) Average Number of Patients Per Day : 10 outpatient; 5-8 inpatient Documentation System/EMR: EPIC Required Duties: Assist in Surgery, Write Prescriptions, Rounding, Order Tests, Pre-Op Physical Exams, Suture Removal, Maquet Vein Harvesting required. Responsibilities First Assist in Cardiothoracic Surgery (OR) Endoscopic vein harvesting ( Maquet required) Hospital rounding Pre-operative evaluations and physical exams Order and interpret diagnostic tests Write prescriptions Chest tube removal Pacing wire removal Wound care, including suture/staple removal and debridement Cardiac rehabilitation coordination Complete patient documentation in EPIC Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams Respond to emergencies using ACLS/CPR protocols Requirements Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (AANP) Active Indiana license Vein harvesting experience is required (Maquet) Must be able to cover most/all of the open blocks of dates First Assist CT surgery experience required ACLS & BLS certifications New graduates will not be considered NP Requirements (in addition to the above) Must be able to do first assist - Required If you're an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery NP looking for your next locum opportunity, we'd love to connect!
