Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Shift: 12H Days + Every Other Weekend or up to 3 weekends per month if busy + 1 holiday off during assignment + first to float

Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience required

License: Current RN License

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required

Must-Have:
Candidates must have a full 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered.
Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular.
Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance.
There is a pass/fail simulation lab on Day 1 of orientation.
Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or with neuro patients is preferred.

Description:
Unit Notes: Auto-offer based on clinical prescreen.
This position requires a full 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered.
No exceptions will be made.
Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular.
Candidates are required to titrate drips, including but not limited to propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, and insulin.
Charge nurse duties are included, and nurses do not take patients during charge shifts.
There are no nurse aides on the unit; they are only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretaries.
Clientists or intensivists are available on site 24/7.
Respiratory Therapy is available in the ICU 24/7.
Equipment includes vents, CPAP, BIPAP, dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett, V60s BIPAP, and Airvo.
Nurses are required to read their own telemetry strips as there are no monitor techs on the unit.
Self-scheduling is allowed, but the manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
Weekend requirements include 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule.
Nightshift weekends are Friday-Saturday, while dayshift weekends are Saturday-Sunday.
May have 1 holiday off during the assignment.
There is no additional call or standby requirement.
Floating to telemetry may occur with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed.
The dress code is navy scrubs.
Unit-specific orientation lasts 1-2 days.
Skills will be validated for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as needed.
Candidates should be open to floating between various ICUs as required.
Candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization within the past year.
The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks.
Charting will be done via an electronic health record system.
