Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound exams, including abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, and vascular studies, ensuring high-quality and accurate imaging results
• Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adjusting settings to optimize image quality
• Ensure proper patient positioning and maintain comfort and safety throughout the examination process
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to interpret ultrasound findings and support timely diagnostic decisions
• Accurately document patient information and imaging results in the EMR system
• Educate patients on ultrasound procedures and address any concerns or questions
• Follow safety and regulatory guidelines, maintaining compliance with standards such as HIPAA, AIUM, and facility protocols
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance, and report technical issues promptly
• Commit to ongoing education and professional development to stay current on sonography advancements and best practices

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field
• Current certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S)
• State licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, if applicable

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sonographer in a healthcare or hospital setting
• Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and using associated software programs
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy and ultrasound techniques
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in a patient care environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team setting
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and occasional on-call shifts
