The Instructional Assistant Special Education supports educators in delivering specialized instruction and tailored learning experiences to students with diverse learning needs. This role plays a crucial part in fostering an inclusive educational environment that promotes student development, independence, and academic success.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Support students during classroom activities and transitions
- Reinforce learning through one-on-one or small group instruction
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to adapt materials and strategies
- Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
- Provide personal care assistance as needed for students with disabilities
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student needs
