You'll help define the architecture for multiple product lines, influence technical strategy across global engineering teams, and work with modern embedded and enterprise technologies to build software that directly impacts healthcare worldwide. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree with 17+ years of software engineering experience, or Master's degree with 15+ years Extensive experience architecting large-scale, complex software systems Expert-level development experience with C++, Java, Python, and Angular Strong Linux expertise, including kernel, device drivers, networking, bootloaders, and filesystems Experience developing embedded software and distributed systems Knowledge of microservices architecture, messaging frameworks, and embedded communication protocols Experience with Docker, virtualization, CMake, Yocto, and shell scripting Strong software design, architecture, and technical leadership experience Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills Desired Skills & Experience Experience developing regulated medical devices Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or FDA software development processes Cybersecurity experience, including threat modeling and SELinux Background in robotics, motor control, or industrial automation Experience integrating third-party software and hardware technologies Agile/Scrum development experience Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams What You Will Be Doing Define and own the software architecture across multiple product lines Establish software design standards and architectural best practices Develop software architecture documentation, technical specifications, and design artifacts Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions Design and develop proof-of-concept solutions for new technologies Build and enhance complex software components across embedded and application layers Collaborate with product management, engineering, QA, and global development teams Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies into existing platforms Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across software and embedded environments Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects Tech Breakdown 30% Software Architecture & System Design 25% Embedded Linux Development 20% C++ / Java / Python Development 15% Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 10% Research, Proof of Concepts & Technology Evaluation Daily Responsibilities 40% Hands-On Development & Architecture 30% Technical Leadership & Design Reviews 20% Cross-Functional Collaboration 10% Planning, Documentation & Mentorship The Offer Competitive base salary plus annual bonus Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite in Bedford, MA) Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Generous PTO and paid holidays Opportunity to work on next-generation medical technologies that directly improve patient outcomes Long-term career growth within a stable, globally recognized healthcare technology organizationApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
