Available Positions Junior High Science Teacher, Avondale Junior High English Language Arts Teacher, Avondale Junior High Math Teacher, Glendale Sixth Grade English Language Arts Teacher, Goodyear Junior High Math Teacher, Laveen Junior High Math Teacher, North Phoenix Job Overview As an English Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies Teacher, you will develop students' critical thinking, literacy, numeracy, scientific inquiry, and civic knowledge. Responsibilities Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth. Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement. Maintain effective and efficient record‑keeping procedures. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community. Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification. Participate in training and staff meetings. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed. Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments. Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives. Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required. Participate in events outside of normal hours. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain. Requirement to pass a criminal history background check. Preferred Qualifications A current teaching certificate from within the state. Physical & Travel Requirements / Work Environment Travel between campuses is required from time to time. Lifting objects up to 25 pounds on occasion. May require sitting for long periods, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
