Senior Protection & Control Engineer (Substations)

Join a growing engineering team delivering high voltage substation projects for utility and renewable energy clients. This role is ideal for an experienced Protection & Control Engineer who enjoys leading technical design, mentoring others, and ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables across complex transmission and distribution projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and review of high voltage substation Protection & Control (P&C) systems for utility and renewable energy projects. Produce and review engineering deliverables including single line diagrams, schematic and elementary drawings, wiring diagrams, communications diagrams, control house layouts, panel layouts, bills of materials, cable schedules, nameplate drawings, and construction specifications. Ensure all work is delivered accurately, on schedule, and within project budgets. Perform technical reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with client requirements and IEEE standards. Support project planning by developing design concepts, project estimates, and engineering approaches for complex substation projects. Work closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver successful project outcomes. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and designers. Requirements Minimum 8 years of experience in Protection & Control engineering for high voltage substations. Professional Engineer (PE) licence required. Strong experience designing and reviewing substation P&C systems. Ability to work independently while leading technical aspects of multiple projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Strong understanding of IEEE standards and utility design practices.
