Phlebotomist I

Overview Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s healthcare facility in Ridgefield, CT 06877. Job Details Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Location: Ridgefield, CT 06877 | Job Type: Local contract | Contract Length: 3 months+ | Pay Range: $17 – $21.00 hourly. Required: Phlebotomy Certification. Key Responsibilities Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures. Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and other specimen collection (e.g., urine, fecal) as required. Demonstrate technique(s) using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physician's orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness. Package specimens for transport. Store specimens at the required temperature. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience.
