Location USA-VA-Warrenton-613 Frost Ave Role Overview Food Lion To Go Manager responsible for overseeing operations, making decisions that impact store associates and customer service, and acting as a customer service ambassador to achieve business goals while fostering an environment that produces high levels of customer satisfaction and associate morale. Duties and Responsibilities Manage Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training, and developing department associates. Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management, training, and conduct timely formal performance appraisals for direct reports. Maintain effective work schedules for Food Lion To Go associates to meet business traffic requirements of on-line orders, minimizing customer inconvenience, including assigning activities to associates during idle time. Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision, and Strategy. Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results. Partner with department managers to ensure fresh orders, particularly those with out-of-stocks, are handled properly. Ensure return-to-stock items are handled promptly and orderly, giving immediate attention to refrigerated and perishable items. Model outstanding, friendly customer service and use knowledge of department products to offer solutions that meet or exceed customers’ expectations. Control store expenses through proper ordering, care of supplies, and equipment. Use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems. Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation are consistently maintained. Have a complete understanding of scheduling, sales, projections, wage percent, interviewing, hiring, training, company information, and other items necessary to manage Food Lion To Go operations. Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents; record and report all accidents per procedures. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and all company guidelines, policies, and standard practices. Maintain security standards. Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses. Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer constructive counseling to achieve customer satisfaction and service while building store sales. Support Front End operations as needed, including greeting customers, offering assistance with orders, retrieving shopping carts, reporting equipment malfunctions, and performing other assigned duties. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to lead and manage a team. Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Ability to use technical information to solve problems. Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions. Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or a similar accrediting organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or must attend company-provided training and achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment; accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiring it. Physical Requirements Stand 100% of the time with occasional walking short distances. Ability to push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion and up to 2000 pounds using a pallet jack or float. Perform repetitive hand and arm motions. Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and approximately 100 lbs. on occasion. Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials and household cleaners. Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level, occasionally above shoulder or below waist level. Meet established volume activity standards for the position. Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time, including inclement weather. Have sufficient visual ability to check invoices, dates, and other written documents. Preferred Requirements Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions. Ability to use handheld computers for orders, markdowns, scan outs, and inventory.
