Industrial Machinery Mechanic II – 2nd Shift Industrial Machinery Mechanic II (Taco Fall River) is responsible for the maintenance of production equipment and complex machinery. The role requires troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and collaboration with engineering, operations, and safety teams. Position Summary The Mechanical Technician works from sketches, specifications, diagrams, and verbal instructions using hand and power tools to maintain hydraulic, welding, CNC, cranes, and other heavy industrial equipment. Measures of Success Timely completion of assigned work requests Accomplishment of preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled Consistent documentation for pass‑down to management Reduced downtime through proactive identification of trends Responsibilities Perform daily maintenance of production equipment and assist with work orders for repair and maintenance of heavy industrial machinery such as hydraulic assembly machines, welding and fabrication equipment, cranes, hoists, and CNC machining. Troubleshoot machinery using general knowledge of industrial systems, diagrams, and schematics. Operate toolroom equipment for repair and replacement of parts and manage inventory of toolroom and order requests. Use precision gauges (micrometers, dial indicators) and common hand and power tools. Estimate equipment downtime, report to Facilities Manager, and recommend necessary parts. Install new equipment and machinery, including complex jobs for advanced machines. Move and reset machinery and equipment for department relocations; remove fixtures from machines. Operate Bridgeport lathe and milling machines. Troubleshoot building air, compressed gas, and ventilation systems. Complete building repair tasks including carpentry and plumbing work. Assist maintenance team with snow removal as needed. Use CMMS to input data, document workflows, and record machine variations, PM breakdowns, modifications, and installations. Document all work performed and parts used, including part numbers, in the CMMS. Interact with Engineering, Operations, and Safety teams to provide support services in a courteous and timely manner. Stay current on new techniques and technology applicable to the position. Communicate effectively with Facilities Manager and production supervisors to resolve processing line hindrances and suggest throughput improvements. Adhere to safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and follow Lockout–Tagout procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Perform additional related duties as required. Drive between local company sites for up to 24 months; valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in machinery maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in hand and power tools. Experience with computerized documentation of work detail data. Understanding of equipment downtime implications and inefficient processing. Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and troubleshooting. Ability to learn all aspects of production equipment and teach key adjustments. Capability to operate machine‑shop and welding equipment. Ability to work at heights using a scissor or aerial lift. Willingly perform moderate physical tasks (lifting, carrying, bending, continuous standing). Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities with multitasking and prioritization. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
