Hours and Schedule Shift Start Time: Variable Shift End Time: Variable AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift Weekend Requirements: No Weekends On-Call Required: No Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $68.450 - $88.330 - $98.920 What You Will Do Performs procedures, setups, simulations, and prescribed treatments under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, or Lead Radiation Therapist to provide the highest level of care to Radiation Oncology patients. Required Qualifications Certified Radiation Therapy (T) – ARRT REQUIRED AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional – American Heart Association REQUIRED Certified Radiologic Technologist – CA Department of Public Health REQUIRED Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 1 year experience as a Certified Radiation Therapist in a physician’s office or hospital setting. Other Qualification Requirements Completion of a formal training program in a JRCERT/CHEA approved school and meeting requirements of a State or Federal mandated certification or equivalent. Essential Functions Demonstrates initiative and teamwork. Follows instructions and works with minimal supervision; complies with work schedules and deadlines; consistently exerts positive energy to identify, recommend, and participate in problem resolution in an objective manner. Department improvement. Participates proactively in identifying concerns and offering solutions, including meetings on Body Mechanics, Disaster Procedures, Fire, Safety, Hazardous Materials, and Infection Control. General support. Initiates supplies necessary for treatments. Assists in maintenance of inventory in the clinical area, continuous quality improvement, reporting equipment failure to supervisor, maintaining cleanliness, and accurately charging billing for procedures. Meeting attendance. Demonstrates an orderly and logical approach to resource utilization; consistently utilizes time management skills to improve efficiency and effectiveness; recognizes external factors and positively adjusts to change; readily and willingly adapts to changes in the work environment. Patient care. Interprets and performs prescribed treatment plans; maintains pre-treatment and treatment records; operates simulator and treatment equipment; assists in preparation of weekly chart rounds; maintains daily treatment schedules; fabricates immobilization and positioning devices; assists MD with treatment simulation; photographs patients for documentation; correctly interprets physician’s orders 90‑95% of the time; reviewed annually for proficiency in treating adult and geriatric cancer patients; provides simple dose calculations for emergency setups. Patient satisfaction. Achieves oncology service-wide target; evidence of patient satisfaction via verbal comments, written feedback, AIDET surveys, and Press‑Ganey results. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of radiation therapy. Ability to keep neat, accurate records. Ability to follow physician’s orders. Effective interpersonal and patient contact skills.
