Join us in performing Sacred Work!Competitive benefits are offered including:Matched Retirement PlanPaid Time OffComprehensive Benefit Plan – Medical, Dental, Vision and Much More!Bonus PotentialSummary/ObjectiveThe Cardiovascular Nurse is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the patient having invasive or non-invasive special procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab to include the immediate pre-procedure period, during the procedure, and immediately following the procedure.Essential Job DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Utilizes a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed, nursing care by performing comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, making nursing diagnoses that serve as the basis for the strategy of care, developing a plan of care based on the assessment and nursing diagnosis, implementing nursing care, and evaluating the patient's responses to nursing interventions.Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all patient logs, charge requisitions, and other paperwork. Organizes activities during the immediate pre-procedure period to ensure that all required assessments are completed and documented fully. Maintains required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards.Assumes responsibility for the efficient management of patient in the immediate post procedure period.Assists physicians in the administration of Cardiac Cath Lab examinations within scope of practice of the RN.Communicates information appropriately with Medical Staff and other members of the health care team to promote continuity of care and attainment of patient expected outcomes.Ensures implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights including, Informed consent, Clarification of patient expectations, Explanation of treatment processes, Maintenance of confidentiality of patient information, Maintenance of patient privacy through prevention of excess exposure during procedures, Ethical considerations, Handling of patient complaints. Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.Required Education and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited nursing program2 - 4 years related experienceRequired License/CertificationsCurrent RN license in the state of TexasBLS certification, ACLS certification, EKG certification, Competency for moderate sedation
