Senior Engineer, Technology I
AbbVie
AbbVie seeks a Senior Engineer to design and deliver full-stack software solutions using React, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, Apollo GraphQL, and Kubernetes. The role involves leading technical initiatives across R&D, from conception through production deployment, with emphasis on scalability and observability.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement full-stack solutions spanning React frontends, Python/Node backends, GraphQL APIs, and NoSQL data stores
- Lead technical projects and mentor staff on significant product development and operational improvements
- Build responsive web experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern tooling; design and operate Apollo GraphQL federated architectures
- Architect and operate NoSQL data models; package and deploy containerized applications on Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines
- Instrument services for observability using Datadog; drive advancement of engineering practices and cross-discipline collaboration
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 6 years experience, or Master's with 5 years, or PhD
- Hands-on production experience with Python and React/TypeScript
- Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (Neo4j, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis) with data modeling
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes/Amazon EKS, and Helm charts
- CI/CD workflow authoring in GitHub Actions with containerized build and test automation
- Strong TypeScript proficiency including type-driven API design
- Apollo GraphQL experience; Apollo Federation subgraph architectures strongly preferred
