Houseman Job Overview: The Houseman is responsible for ensuring a clean and pleasant environment for our guests. The overall Houseman focus is cleaning and maintaining all hotel public areas, including restrooms, hallways, stairwells, etc. to meet quality standards. Primary Responsibilities: Ensure a clean and pleasant environment for our guests. Cleans and maintains all hotel public areas, including restrooms, hallways, stairwells, etc. to meet quality standards. Cleans bathrooms, dusts furniture and pictures, vacuums, sweeps and mops floors. Empties carts of soiled linen and disposes trash. Removes spots, insects and debris, polishes fixtures and cleans ashtrays. Delivers items to rooms upon request and assists in cleaning guest rooms as needed. Other duties as assigned. Respond to guest inquiries and requests as appropriate. Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items. Qualifications: Ability to multi-task. Attention to Detail. Functional/Technical Skills. Integrity/Trust. This job operates in a hotel environment, the majority of the work is performed in guest rooms and public space areas. Requires the use of cleaning tools and equipment, cleaning chemicals and manual labor to deliver clean and ready rooms. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant physical movement is involved in performing the duties and tasks of a Maintenance Technician. Frequently position self to clean/repair in all zones of the hotel and guest rooms such as the floor, under the bed, behind furniture, and high and low bathroom fixtures throughout the work shift is required. Will transport up to 300 lbs., will position up to 50 lbs. and will move up to 30 lbs. Mental Demands: The mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have mental alertness and be able to comprehend written daily room assignments. Ability to determine when a room meets the cleanliness requirement of the hotel. Required Education & Experience: One year of Housekeeping experience a plus. High School education or GED.
