Production Team Lead

Job Summary

This position is a hands-on leadership role where the individual will assist the Production Supervisor and function as a highly skilled laser operator. The role involves working as part of a defined workstation team, coordinating work activities, maintaining compliance with procedures, performing quality control checks, acting as a technical lead for first-level problems, moving products in and out of the work area, assisting with training, and assuming duties as a laser operator.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare documents, production sheets, and other reports as required by the contracting customer.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and share information with other team members.
• Motivate team members to perform at their best and assign tasks based on individual capabilities.
• Proactively communicate issues to minimize downtime.
• Demonstrate job duties and observe team performance to ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
• Encourage team members to stay on task and consistently meet quality and throughput goals.
• Regularly communicate objectives, expectations, and results to all team members.
• Ensure team members have the materials and supplies necessary to complete tasks.
• Verify and record production work on daily production sheets and transfer data to customer databases.
• Ensure the timely preparation of shipment of finished goods to contracting customers.
• Keep the supervisor informed of any issues related to contract performance, including potential delays.
• Communicate worker performance related to quality and quantity for proper recognition and evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of previous experience in production.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inventory management skills.
