• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3×12 Hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Job Summary

This is a Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele) RN travel contract position located at a hospital in Rochester, NY. RNs are required to have a mandatory competency with phlebotomy as well as placing IVs, as this is a required skill for any RN at this facility. Day/Eve patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6-7); Night ratios are expected to be 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in). PCTs are present on all units and perform vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as mandatory competency requirements
• Manage and care for MS/Tele patients, including cardiac unit patient diagnoses
• Perform interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Perform management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Administer and manage Nasal Cannula oxygen delivery
• Administer and manage Oxygen face masks
• Manage Portable Oxygen tanks
• Perform Non-invasive airway management
• Maintain Isolation Precautions
• Float within scope to meet facility needs / float between like units as required

Education Requirements

• Active RN License required (NY - NY is not a Compact state; NY RN license non-negotiable)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Pending license not accepted

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night Shift: 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• On-call not required
• Float between like units required within scope to meet facility needs
• Block schedule: facility will try to accommodate but not guaranteed
• No local candidates; local radius restriction is 75 miles (no candidates residing within 75 miles of facility)
• RTO Restrictions: No more than 1 week of RTO allowed per contract
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Charting system: Epic

• Pending RN license is NOT accepted - active NY RN license required at time of submission
• RTO Restrictions: Facility will not allow more than 1 week of RTO per contract period
