Job Description Electrical Journeyman – Lead Commercial & Industrial Field Operations for Gillespie Electric \n \n Job Overview: \n \n Company: Gillespie Electric \n Salary/Pay Rate: $33.00 – $39.00 per hour \n Location: East Greenville, PA (100% field-based with 10% regional travel) \n Job/Employment Type: Full Time \n Schedule: 40 hours per week with overtime potential \n Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, and High-end Residential Installations \n Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required \n \n \n The Opportunity : \n You will serve as an essential field mechanic, running project areas and directing small site crews under the guidance of a foreman. You will work independently from detailed blueprints on dynamic commercial, residential and industrial installations. This role gives you the platform to hone your technical expertise, mentor apprentices, and build a lasting career with a trusted industry leader. \n \n How You Will Make an Impact: \n \n Execute complex conduit bending, wire pulling, and MC cable installations per specifications. \n Read and interpret electrical blueprints, symbols, and wiring nomenclature accurately. \n Lead layout work and manage small crews on assigned project sections independently. \n Install distribution equipment, switches, receptacles, and commercial lighting fixtures. \n Perform system diagnostics and basic troubleshooting on your own field installations. \n Train and mentor apprentices and helpers to ensure quality work and safe practices. \n Maintain active communication with project foremen regarding task status and site material needs. \n \n \n Required Qualifications & Experience: \n \n Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience. \n Proven proficiency in conduit bending, wire pulling, and layout work. \n Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints and work without direct supervision. \n High school diploma or equivalent secondary education credential. \n Ownership of required hand tools and basic power tools for commercial work. \n Must be able to lift 50lbs or more \n Reliable transportation \n Must be able to report to the assigned job site on time and maintain reliable attendance. \n \n \n Preferred Qualifications & Experience: \n \n Completion of a formal Electrical Apprenticeship or Trade School Program. \n Valid State Journeyman License or Journeyman Card. \n Experience with low-voltage systems including fire alarm and communication wiring. \n OSHA 10 or 30 \n Currently pursuing Foreman training or willing to complete the necessary training and development to advance into a Foreman role. \n Proficiency with Procore construction management software. \n \n \n Compensation & Benefits: \n \n Hourly rate of $33.00 – $39.00 per hour with weekly direct deposit. \n Labor-based performance bonuses and annual bonuses tied to company profitability. \n Comprehensive medical and vision insurance with optional dental coverage and voluntary Aflac plans. \n 401(k) retirement savings plan featuring an annual company match. \n Work-life balance package including paid time off for holidays, vacation, and sick leave. \n Travel projects provided with per diem allowances (out of state) \n Training opportunities including safety certifications (OSHA, Fall Protection, Lifts) and manufacturer training. \n \n \n About Us: \n Gillespie Electric is a safety-first, family-oriented merit shop contractor serving the region since 1973.
