Physical Therapist Assistant

An established healthcare organization is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will support individualized treatment plans and provide patient-centered care focused on mobility, function, and recovery.

Employment Type: Full-Time.

Setting: Outpatient Rehabilitation.

Compensation: $25.00–$32.00 per hour.

Schedule: Days/Evenings FLEX.

Travel: Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans addressing patients' goals and functional needs.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, balance activities, and activities of daily living.
• Assist with the safe use of crutches, walkers, canes, orthotics, and other supportive devices.
• Provide prescribed modalities, including hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
• Perform therapeutic activities and manual therapy techniques within the PTA's scope of practice.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist with modifications to treatment programs based on patient progress.
• Participate in discharge planning and reinforce home exercise programs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding exercises, safety, mobility, and home programs.
• Document patient care, treatment provided, responses, and applicable charges in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain compliance with New York State requirements, facility policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program resulting in an Associate's degree.
• Current New York State Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of required annual safety training and HealthStream e-learning courses.
• Prior outpatient or clinical experience preferred.
• New PTA graduates will be considered.

Schedule & Travel:

• Days/Evenings FLEX.
• Schedule assigned within operational hours of 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Occasional weekends.
• Call as required.
• Local travel may be required to support outpatient therapy needs at various area locations.
