Assistant Physical Therapist

Position Overview

• Department: Physical Rehab
• Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday (No weekends or Holidays) - Perform both aquatic and land based interventions
• Work Location: UAB Medicine St. Vincent's One Nineteen

What You Will Do

Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.

• Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
• Document treatment interventions given.
• May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Currently licensed, eligible to be licensed or having a temporary license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) according to the rules and regulations of the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Program required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
