About this position Diesel Direct is currently seeking a full-time Diesel Truck Mechanic for our East Providence, RI location. Duties include working on fleet delivery vehicles and customers. Maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records. Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs and maintenance on equipment (engine diagnostics a plus). Weld equipment as needed. Interpret work orders and technical manuals. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems. Test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and legislated regulations. Work in a fast‑paced environment. Perform work with heavy equipment and in awkward positions. Work alone or as part of a team. Keep up with changing technology and updates. Qualifications Experience working with oil and fuel trucks a plus. Must supply own tools. Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs; interpret policies and procedures, maps, and route directions. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
