CDL A Shuttle Driver - Position Overview

Are you ready to join one of the foodservice industrys powerhouses As a US Foods CDL A Shuttle Driver you will drive tractor trailers containing various products (meats produce frozen foods dry goods etc.) to and from remote dispatch role goes beyond simply transporting goods - its about perfecting the craft of delivery earning trust mile by mile and serving as a vital link to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Driving : Master the art of the drive transporting various products between dispatch sites with safety and efficiency.

• Team Up: Embrace the challenge of backhaul or delivery roles when needed show your adaptability.
• Equipment Inspection : Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.
• Inspect and Confirm: Verify the freight on the truck check the trailer temperatures every detail matters.
• Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Lift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80 lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.
• Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10 per shift) required.
• Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.
• Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit stand walk drive climb/balance stoop/squat kneel/bend bend reach above shoulder twist and use manual dexterity.

Qualifications

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.

• 6-months commercial driving experience required.

• Doubles endorsement required AND minimum 6-months driving with doubles endorsements preferred.

• Must be comfortable working overnight.

• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.

• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation to understand highway traffic signs and signals to respond to official inquiries and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education specific skills function geographic location and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is $33.52 per hour.

As applicable this role may also receive overtime compensation.
