OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Fastenal Cold Heading Machinist, you will be setting-up and operating cold heading or threading equipment. Operating heading or threading machines will be based on previous experience.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Setting up and operating cold heading or threading equipment
• Inspecting parts and verifying dimensional data
• Maintaining scheduled delivery
• Reading and interpreting blueprints
• Maintaining tools
• Maintaining all aspects of the machines from set-up to operation

Required Position Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of cold heading and/or threading equipment
• Knowledge of quality tooling associated with cold heading or threading machines
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Preferred Position Qualifications

Possess an understanding of ISO quality systems

Prior experience reading blueprints

Familiarity with inspection practices and knowledge of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, ring gages and protrusion gages

COMPENSATION: The base pay range for this position is $41,000 - 58,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
