Licensed Practical Nurse

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and facility policies. Your duties include: Deliver direct nursing care, including bathing, oral, ear, eye, facial, hair, and nail care. Assist residents with daily hygiene, changing linens, and maintaining cleanliness. Assist in admission, discharge, and transportation to appointments and activities. Support safe lifting, turning, and positioning of residents, using transfer belts or staff as needed. Administer procedures such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy care, blood draws, and other services per care plans. Monitor and document vital signs, lab tests, and routine health indicators per resident care plan. Maintain accurate and timely charting and reporting, completing medical forms, evaluations, and incident reports. Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse or neglect immediately to Administrator, Director of Nursing, or Unit Manager. Maintain confidentiality of all resident and family information. Report occupational exposures to blood, bodily fluids, infectious materials, or hazardous chemicals. Provide support for families and visitors, treating them with dignity and respect. Assist with discharge and admission paperwork and documentation. Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by authorized supervisors. Must have a valid professional license (LPN) that is in good standing with the State. Must have a valid CPR certification. Must have basic computer skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation. Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds. The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although it may not be a requirement of the job.
